Waggin' Good Times
A few photos & a video from Camp Waggin' Tails, which Mom & I went to in Big Bear Lake last weekend. We had a blast!
Rusty hanging on the docks.
Big dogs splashing around in the lake.
A tired and cold Rusty.
Will wade for turkey treats!

I'm Okay With 1,983rd Place
The L.A. Times recently published an article that a lot of people mocked. I find it kind of fascinating. The site provides a database of most of the registered dogs in Los Angeles County. Of course there are those dogs who don't get registered, but I blame their people for that. I had a good time looking up myself and those other dogs in my family. Here are the results:
Little Guy is 1,983rd. There are 30 of us (and 1 "Little Guy 2"). As always though, I'm the middle dog. I don't have the least or most common name in my family. I might as well be called "Jan Brady."
Cosette is the 3,008th name as there are only 17 of them in the county. Only one is an American Eskimo dog. Guess who that is!
By no surprise, Rusty has the most common name in our family. Rusty has the 31st most common name and shares it with 1,798 other L.A. county dogs. When he was adopted into our family, he already had his name. My Mom & Dad nearly changed it, but he knew it already and it was kind of sentimental as both of my parents' fathers had dogs named Rusty earlier in their lives.

Dream Street
I worked at a very special event yesterday. We had to drive a ways, but we ended up at a beautiful camp full of very friendly and smiling kids. The kids are all sick, with things like cancer, but you wouldn't really know it. They were having so much fun and enjoyed petting me and hugging me!
P.S. Cosette is out of her cone and much less grumpy.

Day 17
Seriously. 17 days so far? I will be a much happier camper when this cone comes off. I swear, the hamster that lives here has it better than I do.

Here We Go Again
Another ride in the car today. That makes four in a week. And guess what? She took me the same place...the doctor's office. Ugh. I hate being picked up, put on the cold metal table and held down. At least I don't have to wear a bandage on my foot anymore, but yeah, I'm still in the cone. I wish everyone would just leave me alone and let me lie in the sun.

Can't Catch A Break
It seems like every time the woman puts me in her car, she takes me to see Dr. Chan. I'm not convinced that she's as nice as I'm told. The thing that doctor has done to me! I went there twice this week. I was there all day Tuesday and by the time I got to go home, I was woozy, had bandages on 3 of my 4 legs, and that damn plastic collar on. I made sure to bark a few times in the middle of the night to make sure no one got much sleep.
P.S. I am recovering nicely, by the way.

I'm Eating Out Of Her Hand
I don't usually mind going to the vet. I meet cool people and dogs in the waiting room and Dr. Chan is really cool (even if she seems more interested in asking about how Cosette is doing). Today it was not so fun though. She stuck a needle--a needle!--into a squishy lump I have on my side. My Mom was nervous about it, but also suspected it was just fat and that's what it is. If she knew that, why did I get the poking? Huh?
Anyway, payback is sweet. I sat and turned my back on my dinner tonight until she had fed me at least half of it by hand. How great is that?

We Walked The Walk
This past Saturday my Mom and I walked about 3 miles in the Walk For Kids to benefit the L.A. Ronald McDonald House. We raised $600 that will help the families who stay at the house while their children are in the hospital. We have a couple of photos, but need to upload them still. It was hot and I got pretty tired, but it was fun. There were several other little dogs participating too, so we all had a little sniff fest. Good times.

What's Up With That?
What's the deal with my dad chopping down the best bush to pee on in the back yard? I don't get it. Okay, I'll just have to take a whiz on the grill or refrigerator (as usual--ha ha!). Harrumph.

Is It So Much To Ask?
I don't see why I don't get my morning treat the second that alarm goes off. What's with the snoozing? Or the getting up to potty and going back to bed? I'M HUNGRY!!! And how about dinner the moment she walks in the door? I don't think that's asking too much. Come on, an old dame like me needs her nutrition and when I want something, I want it NOW.

One Of These Days...
I swear, I'm gonna get those squirrels! Who do they think they are? Running across my roof, scurrying across my back yard, and sitting in my trees.
It Gets Me Every Time
Welcome to Snarky Dogs, a place where my brother and sister and I will share some of our life. I have another blog, that I haven't been updating very often, but this will be more of a group effort. At least that's the idea.
What I'm thinking about tonight is that our Mom and Dad sometimes bring home food that smells really good and they don't share! What's up with that? All I'm left with is hopping up on the couch to scavenge for crumbs.
